Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and songwriter. As a child she was subjected to racial taunts by a lot of Americans. Her confidence began to grow at the age of nineteen when she appeared in an audition. She was praised for her performance. The event not only helped her gain confidence but changed her outlook on the future. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. When she was 23, she started her professional career, making her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. The character of The Lad of The Lake became her most memorable break, earning herself the Tony Award in addition to praise from critics for her performance. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC the show, she received more recognition. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended play. As an activist, she works tirelessly to promote LGBT equality.
