Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford, is an American musician, singer and guitarist who was born in the UK. She was a lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of females in the late 1970s. Their punkish music and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. Although the band did not make much progress in America however they became extremely popular internationally. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up up in 1979. After taking vocal lessons she launched her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Ford failed to make much with either album and was largely absent from the world of rock for around 10 years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in 1989. The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became huge hit songs. However, the success of her career was not long-lasting and for several years, she was absent. In 1995, she dropped "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. The most recent album 'Time Capsule was released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
